Brandy Brandy is distilled from a fermented mash of grapes or other fruit and the aged for at least two years. Cognac is an exceptionally smooth brandy with a heady dry aroma produced in the Cognac region of France. Armagnac is similar to Cognac, but with a drier taste, it is produced in the Armagnac region of France. there are other brandy's from Jerez Spain these are considered the best. however brandy is made all over the world. Brandy can be divided into so many sub catergory's from VS, VSP, VSOP, XO, Congac region, Aragmac, Eaux de vies and so on..... you could literally write pages on the deferences and types. Premium X.O.
X.O./Luxury: (X.O., extra old) A minimum of six years aging for the youngest cognac in the blend, with the average age running 20 years or older. All Cognac houses maintain inventories of old vintage Cognacs to use in blending these top of the line brands. The oldest Cognacs are removed from their casks in time and stored in glass demijohns (large jugs) to prevent further loss from evaporation and to limit excessively woody and astringent flavors. Luxury Cognacs are the very finest Cognacs of each individual Cognac house.
Hennessy X.O.
In 1870, X.O. was created by Hennessy for the personal use of Mr. Maurice Hennessy, his family and freinds.
Over a century later, this blend of more than one hundred very old "Eau-de-Vie" from Cognac's finest growing regions, carefully nurtured in cellars which contain the worlds largest reserves of old Cognac, remains the reference, 'The Original'.

Remi Martin (Coeur De Cognac)Description: Coeur de Cognac translated as 'The heart of Cognac' has enticing notes of ripe summer fruits with the promise of incredibly smooth sensations.
In order to achieve notes of ripe fruit, over half of the eaux de vie were selected from Remy Martin own private estates, the heart of the heart of Cognac. These vineyards are noted for their particularly mild climate and chalky soil and produce almost perfect growing conditions to deliver the fruitiest of eaux de vies and produces delicious a cognac taste, similar to savouring a ripe summer peach.
